Location: RAF Brize Norton, United Kingdom

Working Hours: Rolling 3‑week shift patterns: Early (06:00‑14:00), Night (22:00‑06:00), and Late (14:00‑22:00).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and refresh Planned Maintenance Programmes (PMPs) for the A400M Synthetic Training Equipment (STE) and classroom equipment in accordance with supplied documentation.
  • Conduct all preventative maintenance activities and corrective fault rectifications to ensure training equipment is contractually available for use.
  • Record and track all maintenance activities, fault repairs, and corrective actions to address Service Failures and Facility Deficiencies.
  • Audit and manage tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring all are recorded and tracked using inventory management software.
  • Complete hardware and software updates, upgrades, and weekly housekeeping to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain clean and presentable STE, classrooms, and classroom equipment.
  • Support RAF in performing annual validation checks of the STE, including running 100% of the Qualification Test Guide per year.
  • Update instructor operating station and ownership database as per Authority supplied digital aeronautical flight information files.
  • Perform software backups, recovery processes, cloning, and storage in accordance with the A400M contract.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the site facility building.
  • Conduct all tasks within the site‑appropriate Health and Safety guidelines; all training will be provided.

Skills Required:

  • Strong IT skills – experience in IT networking and working within Microsoft Office environments.
  • Fault‑finding skills and ability to read system drawings for fault tracing and correction.
  • Good understanding of electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Aircraft knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Security Clearance: UK National with Security Clearance (SC) without caveats. If not currently held, successful applicants must undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. Full SC generally requires five years of residence in the UK; in some circumstances a minimum of three years of residence over the last five years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
