Location: Glasgow
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Land and Air Systems (LAS) Optronic business unit as a manufacturing technician. In this role you will work closely with existing team members, Work Cell Manager and Manufacturing Engineers in delivering the outputs from the relevant work cell as per the business requirements.
The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site.You will work a 4 day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day.
Start time is flexible between 6:00am and 7:30am and you get 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. There is also free on-site parking and an on-site canteen.
The role
Perform Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the to ISO 9001 quality standards expected in a timely and professional manner.
Adhere to the defined company processes when carrying out all tasks
Laser technician required to build and test opto-mechanical and electrical systems.
Assembly and test of laser production products, including optic/laser alignment, fault finding, environmental testing and laser ranging.
Optical and electrical sub assembly building of advanced laser products.
Setup and use of complex electro optical tooling and test equipment.
Knowledge of calibration, ESD, optical handling and quality control.
Able to read mechanical, optical and electrical drawings.
Working to class 6 cleanroom standards.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Input and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within industry
Manage and record build configuration of product
Familiar with ERP MRP system Oracle or similar.

Experience in working within an Industrial / Engineering environment is essential
Ability to read and understand mechanical, optical and electrical drawings Ability to assemble and test product to a high standard
To have an awareness / understanding of manufacturing processes
Focussed on meeting deadlines with good time management and prioritisation skills
The ability to work on own initiative when required
The ability to work and contribute as a team player
A basic level of PC skills
Desirable
Proven experience working to standards including IPC610, IPC620 and J-STD-001 is desirable
