We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Project Manager to join our Thales Optronics Missile Electronics (OME) UK team in Govan, Glasgow.
What the role has to offer:
- Full representation and accountability for procurement for OME in the UK from both a product and project perspective
- An opportunity to develop and promote Thales procurement competitiveness internally as well as externally (customers and consortia)
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days from home)
Key responsibilities
On a day‑to‑day basis, you’ll be involved in:
- Defining, implementing and executing the procurement acquisition plan/strategy (project, product development and production phases) in accordance with the allocated targets (time, quality, costs, risks and opportunities)
- Being an effective link between the internal customer and transnational procurements and the interface to all segments/categories
- Validating the availability of offers on the market of the product/project design
- Optimising the cost of procured parts, in collaboration with Category Managers/Subcontract Managers/Tactical Buyers, in order to increase the competitiveness of the solution
- Liaising with operational teams and Category Managers/Subcontract Managers/Tactical Buyers to monitor the execution of the procurement plan and updating the procurement dashboard
- Defining and monitoring the contractual requirements of the procurement acquisition plan
About you
Ideally, you’ll:
- Have demonstrable understanding of the procurement lifecycle, procurement strategy and supplier management in best practice environments through bid, project, product development and production phases
- Have demonstrable experience working within a complex, multinational, multi‑site organisation and working with different cultures – experience within Defence, Aerospace, Manufacturing or other comparable industries is desirable
- Have a strong technical awareness of the end‑to‑end procurement activities (including experience of project management), with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and assess opportunities
- Possess excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with experience building and managing strong, long‑lasting relationships across internal stakeholders, customers, partners and suppliers
- Have experience working autonomously within a matrix organisation and managing your own deliverables without the requirement of regular supervision
- MCIPS / IACCM / EIPM qualifications – desirable
