About the team/rewards
You will be managing a multidisciplinary team, including teams within Hardware, Software, Systems, Safety, and Cyber Security. This team works together on the delivery of sonar equipment. They are a close-knit team who are hardworking, helpful and enjoy working together on site.
Our Opportunity
Your role as Engineering Delivery Manager would be to deliver on one of our sonar programmes, including being responsible for cost & schedule and fulfilling customer needs. Your responsibility will be to provide the principal engineering delivery leadership, direction, decision authority and support to the programme or bid. As well as directing and managing the Engineering team on project or bid to achieve company objectives in terms of programme schedule, financial and quality targets. You will need to ensure that the Engineering Processes are applied correctly and appropriately on the project to company, legislative, regulatory and international standards. Your role will include significant management responsibility for engineering strategy and direction and may have direct line management responsibilities for staff on Project.
About You
You will have extensive experience of systems engineering and ideally would have worked within the defence sector. You would have previously worked in a multidisciplinary team as a team lead or member. You will have strong analytical skills supporting logical, effective and timely decision-making. You will have a strong appreciation of Safety and Safety Assurance within the Engineering discipline and Domain. It would be desirable if you have undertaken a manager role previously, again ideally within defence having previously worked on submarines or sonar equipment. However, if not, it is not essential and this role would therefore be a great opportunity for you to develop this part of your career.
