About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Site Security Manager - Special Projects Facility to join our team in Crawley. As a Deputy Site Security Manager, you’ll be responsible for the daily security operations and the Facility Security Controller (FSC) role for the Special Projects Facility in Crawley. The role holder will require to work autonomously to fulfil the tasks required by the SPF and associated business line.
Key responsibilities
- To successfully plan and transition business as usual security services away from the SPF security controller to provide improved resilience within the SPF – this includes the transferring on of know-how and skills and also, where appropriate, identifying areas which could be shared across the wider CSO team.
- Implementing and supporting the correct registration, issuing, storage, mustering and destruction of classified assets.
- Controlling sensitive physical assets (e.g. cryptographic or media) in accordance with policy.
- Acting as Crypto custodian if applicable or alternate in support of sites where needed.
- Providing advice to site management, PSO’s, IAOs and employees on security matters relating to the SPF.
- Providing liaison and advice to Site Security Contacts (SSC).
- Supporting incoming and outgoing IVCO notifications for government to government visit requests and letter of Intent (LOI) approvals.
- Communicate information management and security awareness campaigns to all employees and contracted staff.
- Conducting audits and reporting on the status of both information and physical assets.
- Lead on internal assurance activities and ensure KPI / Metrics are developed, captured and reported on within agreed timescales.
- Perform Vetting tasks for the SPF scope of activities including travel arrangements and briefings.
- Perform annual Facilities Accreditation including STRAP and ADS compliance.
- Define and conduct Audit Support (3-4 per annum).
- Provide Police and Alarm Liaison for the SPF facility.
- Incident handling and progressing. Report all suspected security breaches and if required, carry out thorough investigations of any suspected security breaches making recommendations for appropriate actions.
- Provide advice and guidance to the business to protect Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Company, customer and third party information and assets.
- Attend training and briefings to enhance and upskill as security evolves.
About you
Ideally, you’ll:
- Be able to demonstrate relevant experience working in a similar security related role/environment OR have an interest in developing your career in this area.
- Have knowledge and understanding of List X(FSC) and the UK MoD cryptographic procedures.
- Experience working as a Crypto Custodian/Alternate or possess equivalent certification/qualification in Security.
- Possess good organisational, communication, presentation and report writing skills.
- Have experience of building relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Be a self-starter with a positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
