Thales is seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter to join our dynamic team in Belfast. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanically assembling and electrically testing products within a collaborative environment, adhering to process and quality requirements to meet our company milestones and targets.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions to achieve specified product requirements.
- Produce assemblies and sub-assemblies according to Production Test Specifications, ensuring accurate recording of test results.
- Apply a range of fitting and assembly techniques to complete tasks to the required quality standards.
- Ensure that production equipment and tools are used and maintained to established workshop standards.
- Collaborate effectively with your team to achieve production targets and deadlines.
- Familiarise yourself with and implement the principles of the 5S housekeeping standard to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
- Actively participate in ongoing Continuous Improvement activities aimed at eliminating waste and reducing operating costs.
Skills:
- Proficient in working to Manufacturing Instructions and Engineering drawings.
- Experienced PC user with good computer skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications:
Essential: Recognised mechanical/electrical apprenticeship.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly processes.
Desirable: Basic electrical testing experience is advantageous.
