Job Overview: As a Quality Assurance Assessor, you will oversee detailed automated and manual inspection of complex mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products to ensure conformity with manufacturing documentation and industry standards. You will be responsible for maintaining calibration and certification processes, conducting audits, and leading quality investigations within a regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed manual inspections of complex mechanical parts and assemblies using calibrated measuring equipment.
- Execute product walk-throughs and approve relevant work instructions.
- Manage calibration status of measuring equipment using internal controls and external calibration services.
- Maintain Certificates of Conformity and other quality documentation for delivered and manufactured items.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to maintain understanding and compliance with quality requirements.
- Conduct internal audits aligned with AS9100 and drive continuous improvement in quality practices.
- Perform manufacturing process verification audits to ensure design and standards compliance.
- Lead root cause analyses and quality investigations using quality tools (8D, 3C, etc.).
- Support additional manufacturing quality-related tasks, including multitasking across onsite areas as needed.
- Coordinate and assess operator tasks for the Approved Operator Submission Process.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in Aerospace, Space, or Defence quality roles.
- Level 4 education or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes according to AS9102.
- ISO9001 / AS9100 auditing qualifications are advantageous.
