Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.## **Risk Manager****Based Cheadle, Crawley or Templecombe with approx 40% travel to Thales UK sites****What the role has to offer:*** Opportunity to see innovative world leading solutions from inception to delivery* This is a great opportunity for career and personal development and growth, demonstrating an ability to lead and influence the Capture, Bid, Project and Leadership teams.**Our Opportunity**We have a really exciting opportunity for a Bid Risk Manager to join Thales Under Water Systems (UWS) who provide technology to enhance and secure the future of our world leading Sonar Capability to UK and International Navies.You will be responsible for ensuring the robust and coherent application and management of Risk & Opportunities within UWS (UK) Bids.You will have a positive impact on UWS (UK) growth targets, ensuring the integrity of risk governance and information and robust Risk & Opportunity Management in UWS (UK) Bids that enables the contracts to deliver their financial targets. You will ensure “Lessons Learned Management” is applied to Risk & Opportunity planning, entailing application of lessons from other projects in our bids.You will work closely with the UWS (UK) Head of Risk & Opportunity to increase awareness and ensure a coherent and robust risk strategy is applied across all UWS (UK) bids. You will look to identifying risks, where appropriate, that could be transferred to the Customer through Dependency’s and Exclusions or to our Supply Chain through our Statements of Work, together with conducting Schedule Risk Analysis and Cost Risk Analysis to provide confidence levels that the business can contract against.**Security Clearance statement*****Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.*****About you:**The role requires strong leadership, professional project management expertise, excellent stakeholder management, team building skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and managing Risks & Opportunities.You will have knowledge and experience of:* Working on a range of different project types – Design, Develop & Manufacture, Service & Support, Obsolescence etc* The areas of projects that can have challenges and how these manifests in to risk for the project* Identifying the potential risks associated with the contractual requirements* Liaising with multi-disciplinary teams* Managing Customer and Supplier relationships* Identifying and creating effective mitigation plans to reduce Risk and enhance Opportunities* Working across functional boundaries to achieve alignment and support for bid & project objectives* Promoting good Risk governance, giving an evidence-based account of progress and distilling key Risks/Opportunities/support needed for Senior Management#LI-ST1In line with Thales\’ Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
