Title: Tactical Buyer Location: Crawley Primary Purpose of the Role: The purpose of the Tactical Buyer role is to be responsible for the effective and accurate processing of orders from purchase to payment (P2P), including creation and execution of Purchase Orders, ensuring they meet technical, quality, contractual, and cost specifications, as well as managing supplier performance and relationships. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the timely and accurate acquisition of products and services for Thales UK, ensuring requests are correctly received and understood, and suppliers meet department requirements. Generate and successfully execute purchase orders to ensure material availability and service provision, monitoring deviations and taking corrective actions to minimize delays. Execute activities in accordance with Chorus 2 processes, including order management, invoice reconciliation, supplier payments, CAPAs, and audits, while seeking continuous improvement opportunities. Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing and terms, and align with Category Management to ensure adherence to strategy and supplier delivery schedules. Monitor and improve supplier performance, escalate issues as needed, and participate in supplier reviews. Identify and implement cost savings, cost avoidance, and cash management initiatives through effective negotiations and supplier selection. Support sustainability efforts by integrating environmental and social compliance requirements into procurement activities. Ensure purchased items meet trade compliance requirements, including licensing and classification data management.
