Overview
As a Propulsion Systems Engineer, you own the propulsion subsystem across projects, from requirements through to operations. You will lead architecture decisions, maintain TRDs and ensure traceability, and present design justifications at major reviews. You will develop and oversee MAIT/AIT plans and run propulsion performance analyses with tools like EcosimPro, MATLAB, and Python. You’ll work with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver on cost, schedule, and quality in Europe’s leading satellite programs. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative, international CoE that shapes advanced propulsion for space missions.

Responsibilities
- Lead propulsion subsystem architecture and design optimization for satellite/mission concepts
- Define and maintain the Technical Requirements Document with traceability
- Prepare and present design justifications at major reviews (PDR, CDR, QR)
- Develop and oversee integration & test plans and MAIT/AIT activities
- Build and improve analysis tools; run performance analyses for non-conformance
- Interface with customers, PMO, AIT, procurement and other subsystem experts
Key requirements
- Degree in engineering, space engineering, physics, or closely related discipline
- Direct space propulsion experience or track in chemical or electric propulsion
- Strong communicator, autonomous work style, capable of managing technical interfaces
