Our Opportunity

We have a new exciting opportunity at Thales Underwater Systems for a Mechanical Manufacturing Technician to work within our Towed Array manufacturing cell based in Templecombe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for the next step up in their career or someone interested in working in a manufacturing environment that has the key fundamental skills to carry out the role. The key focus is to ensure we provide a consistently high quality of product on time to support the production line.

Key Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Performing mechanical assembly operations, as defined by routings, manufacturing instructions, wiring schedules and drawing.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operation efficacy.
  • Ensuring product equipment and tools are used and maintained to the required workshop standards.

About You:

This particular role would suit someone who is hands on. An individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. In addition:

  • Capable of working to Manufacturing instructions.
  • Experience/understanding of mechanical assembly and a production environment.
  • Focused on meeting deadlines with good time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Basic PC skills required.
