About the team

The Product Line Manager Mission Systems reports to the Product Segment Manager Mission Systems team and the Product Line Manager of the Above Water Systems Business Line. The role itself is part of the Segment Systems in the One Naval business.

About your future job

The goal of the Product Line Manager (PLM) Mission Systems is to maximize competitiveness for the mid segment product portfolio in the Mission Systems market, contributing to the overall performance of the Product Line Above Water Systems (AWS). With the approved Product Line Strategic Plan as guidance, the PLM safeguards the attractiveness of the product line Mission Systems in the global market. A mid segment Mission System is offered for patrol vessels, corvettes and frigates including system engineering, Mission System Integration services and Integrated Logistic Support. An Integrated Mission System itself comprises a Combat Management System, sensors, effectors, communication and navigation systems.

The PLM Mission Systems has a proven experience in product management and demonstrable knowledge of systems-of-systems. The PLM is able to translate market and customer needs to an attractive and competitive Mission System. The PLM communicates clearly with a wide range of stakeholders and is able to manage the product in all its phases throughout the lifecycle. The PLM Mission Systems will contribute to the AWS Strategic Business Plan.

The main tasks of the PLM Mission Systems

  • From market studies to product withdrawal, the PLM Mission Systems is responsible for the entire Mission System lifecycle.
  • Analyzing the global market, customer needs and trends, competition from marketing data and business intelligence.
  • Maintaining the standard solution offering for the mid segment of the Mission System Market.
  • Proposing innovations on Systems level and presents the Mission Systems roadmap.
  • Supporting the marketing, business development and sales teams for the product promotion and marketing activities.
  • Working closely with the PLM AWS on Business Line AWS level.

  • Drives accountability within the product team for delivering innovative and compelling products & services in line with promised delivery schedules and quality.

  • Has a strong understanding of the global defense and security market and can demonstrate a good technical understanding.
  • Demonstrates a strong self-direction with a high level of commitment and drive.
  • Obtained a Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant study area.
