Overview
In this role you will drive the adoption of digital technologies across Thales UK manufacturing operations, designing and deploying Industry 4.0 and Io T solutions to enhance performance and decision-making.
You will collaborate with manufacturing teams and external partners to move ideas from concept to deployment, while supporting existing automation and monitoring systems.
This role offers the chance to influence smart factory capability and digital transformation on the factory floor.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy Industry 4.0 and Io T solutions (smart tooling, vision systems, automation, real-time monitoring)
- Design connectivity, sensor integration, and industrial data management solutions
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify opportunities and deliver end-to-end deployments
- Support existing automation, Io T, machine and environmental monitoring solutions
- Engage with technology vendors and partners to evaluate and implement new hardware and software
- Support applications, software updates and device configuration
- Key requirements
- Experience deploying Smart Tooling, Vision Systems, Automation or Machine Monitoring
- Knowledge of industrial Io T and networking (MQTT, OPC UA, TCP/IP)
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java Script
- Experience with Linux administration and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- 2+ years’ experience in Io T, network or software engineering, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience contributing to complex, multidisciplinary projects
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills
- Relevant technical degree such as Computer Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
