Overview
In this role you help drive Thales UKβs Data and Digital strategy by designing data solutions that enable integrated data management and improved customer outcomes. You will collaborate with data architects, engineers and business stakeholders to test concepts, craft architectures, and plan delivery across the full lifecycle. Expect to work on PoCs, data landscaping, and standards to support growth and customer satisfaction. This is a chance to influence data capabilities across multiple business areas while advancing security-conscious, scalable architectures.

Responsibilities
- Support architecture delivery from concept to rollout and operations across the full lifecycle
- Run Data Thinking workshops with business and customer communities to identify PoCs and enhancements
- Act as data solutions architect in customer engagements, delivering artefacts and developing solutions
- Design data-driven solutions that bring value to Thales offers and customers
- Provide governance across projects to ensure solution integrity and business outcomes
- Assist in coordinating data landscaping and cataloguing for Thales UK
- Contribute to UK MoD data management and architecture standards
- Collaborate with Digital Platforms and architecture teams on data management and analytics solutions
- Engage with stakeholders to translate needs into actionable designs
- Help implement third-party data integrations for internal and external use cases
- Work with squads to identify issues and opportunities to improve delivery
- Own the creation of technology architecture deliverables
- Horizon scan disruptive technology trends and offer practical guidance to navigate them
Key requirements
- Experience in the defence industry in related architecture and data roles
- Technical Pre-sales or Product Line Architect experience
- Architecture methodology for complex systems
- Strong data and application with underpinning infrastructure solution development
- Experience in designing/modelling current and target data architectures
- High-quality technical documentation production
- Security-conscious solution design capability
- Awareness of AI, ML, containerisation, IoT, big data, cloud trends
- Ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience in multi-stakeholder change management
- Degree/HND in a relevant Engineering/Data/IT subject
- UK Security Clearance availability or eligibility (SC)
- Stakeholder management and influencing abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration in multi-team environments
- Team player with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude
- Architecture design (Solution Modelling, Systems Integration, IT standards)
- Knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, microservices, event-driven IT
- Data management, information governance, AI/ML, predictive analytics
