Overview

As Cryptographic Services Architect you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise cryptographic solutions across secure, mission-critical projects. You will shape PKI, KMS, HSMs and PQC initiatives within a collaborative cryptographic services practice. You’ll guide bids through delivery, translating complex concepts into clear business value for customers and stakeholders. This role blends architecture, engineering, and strategic leadership to advance cryptographic capabilities in a security‑minded, post‑quantum world. You’ll work across teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant outcomes that support critical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cryptographic architecture for bids, proposals, and project delivery
  • Define secure, scalable, and compliant cryptographic solutions aligned with requirements
  • Create high-quality architectural artefacts (HLDs, designs, specs, testing artefacts)
  • Present solutions to customers, executives, and technical review boards
  • Ensure architectural integrity from bid to delivery and through service transition
  • Design and integrate PKI, CA lifecycle management, KMS, HSMs, and PQC strategies
  • Advise on cryptographic agility and quantum-readiness; lead deployment and testing
  • Drive continuous improvement across architecture practices, standards, and tooling
  • Collaborate with bid teams, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders; identify and mitigate risks
  • Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the cryptographic services community

Key requirements

  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise PKI and cryptographic solutions
  • Knowledge of CA concepts, certificate lifecycle, root of trust, and digital signatures
  • Hands-on experience with PKI platforms such as Keyfactor, EJBCA, ADCS, Azure Certificate Services, Evertrust
  • Experience leading technical solutions across bids and complex programmes
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into business-focused recommendations
  • Experience across the full lifecycle from bid through delivery to service
