OverviewOne of the UK\’s top ten national House Builders is recruiting for a Senior Architectural Technician / Technologist to join one of their Midlands region teams on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is located on the outskirts of Birmingham, with hybrid working arrangements up to two days a week remote.
Responsibilities
Manage and generate the company\’s product portfolio, including house types and associated construction details in AutoCAD (Revit would be an advantage, but is not essential).
Produce new house type information packages, standard details, and coordinate third-party information from consultants, manufacturers, and suppliers.
Produce technical information in AutoCAD and communicate it to Construction departments to maintain the build programme and ensure compliance with Building Control.
Ensure timely production of both presentation and construction information to communicate and implement design concepts accurately.
Develop a comprehensive knowledge of current Building Regulations and NHBC Standards to ensure compliance for the build process and regulatory standards.
Establish good working relationships with Site staff and Department Heads to ensure schemes are constructed as intended and to gather feedback for future schemes.
Produce working drawing information that ensures schemes are designed to the company\’s standards to suit building, marketing and economic considerations and maintain unit consistency and efficiency.
Agree and work to design programme delivery dates and meet these targets to keep the build on programme.
Assist in the production of information relating to the set up of production of planning layouts with eventual progression and integration into BIM-based systems.
Skills, Attributes and Experience
A technical qualification or equivalent experience with sufficient working drawings experience and knowledge of building regulations.
Degree or HNC/D level education with post-qualification experience.
Advanced skills in AutoCAD for generating working drawings; experience with UK BIM standards is advantageous but not essential.
Previous house building experience is advantageous but not essential.
Experience of working on residential housing schemes is desirable.
