An opportunity for an enthusiastic Planner to join a growing regional housebuilder based in Derbyshire, supporting the delivery of planning consents across a variety of residential development sites. Reporting to the Head of Planning, the role involves close collaboration with Land, Technical, and external consultant teams, as well as local authorities, to appraise sites, manage planning submissions, and progress development opportunities in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and submission of a range of planning applications and appeals.
  • Coordinate consultant teams and contribute to community consultation.
  • Conduct site appraisals, interpreting planning policy, housing data, and constraints.
  • Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders throughout the planning process.
  • Maintain accurate planning records and assist with monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

  • Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred).
  • Chartered or working towards RTPI membership, with 2–5 years’ experience in a housebuilder, local authority, or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; GIS knowledge advantageous.
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle.
