An excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to take a leading technical role within a multidisciplinary Building Engineering team, delivering projects across residential, public sector and commercial developments.
The role combines new-build structural design with structural investigation and assessment of existing buildings , offering the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio while providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities Lead the structural design of low to medium-rise residential developments, including apartments, townhouses and mixed-use schemes.
Design and assess timber, steel, concrete and masonry structures , including foundations across varying ground conditions.
Undertake structural inspections, condition assessments, surveys, defect diagnosis and load capacity evaluations.
Prepare technically robust structural investigation and assessment reports.
Produce and review detailed calculations, structural analysis and BIM/CAD information.
Work closely with architects, building services engineers, fire engineers and other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated solutions.
Provide technical input at design reviews, coordination meetings and internal technical forums.
Undertake UK-wide site visits and support projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
Mentor graduates, engineers and technicians, supporting their technical development and progression towards chartership.
Contribute to best practice, innovation and sustainable engineering solutions, including consideration of embodied and whole-life carbon.
Experience Tekla Structural Designer would be advantageous.
A collaborative approach with the confidence to provide technical leadership and mentor others.
A Master's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering accredited by ICE and/or IStruct E.
Chartered status, or clear progression towards chartership, is desirable.
