An opportunity has arisen for an Adoptions Engineer to support the adoption and handover of infrastructure on residential developments across the region. This includes roads, sewers, pumping stations, and public open spaces, as well as the transfer of estates to Management Companies and the management of associated bonds and costs.

The role involves ensuring infrastructure works are completed in line with approved designs and standards, working closely with build teams, consultants, contractors, and local authorities to secure timely adoptions and the release of bonds. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the adoption and handover of roads, sewers, pumping stations, open spaces, and management company areas.
  • Liaise with build, commercial, technical teams, consultants, and solicitors to ensure necessary agreements are in place (S38, S278, S104, S185).
  • Attend site visits to monitor infrastructure works, quality, and compliance.
  • Coordinate inspections with highways authorities, water companies, and other adopting bodies.
  • Manage external consultants and contractors involved in adoption processes.
  • Arrange surveys, testing, certificates, and documentation required for adoption.
  • Monitor adoption programmes and secure certificates and bond reductions.
  • Coordinate handover of estates and documentation to management companies.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Key Requirements
  • Experience in roads, sewers, and infrastructure works associated with residential developments.
  • Strong understanding of Section Agreements (S38, S278, S104) and adoption processes.
  • Knowledge of legal agreements, bonds, certificates, and land transfers.
  • Experience coordinating with local authorities, water companies, and management companies.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and document management systems such as Viewpoint.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Civil Engineering qualification (Degree, HND, or HNC).
  • CSCS card.
  • Previous experience with a housebuilder, consultancy, contractor, or local authority.
