A family-run business now focused on land development, specialising in securing planning permissions for residential and commercial schemes. Based near Cheltenham, the company operates primarily across Gloucestershire and surrounding counties.

Reporting to the Land & Planning Director, the Land Management Officer will support the Land Manager within a 13-person Estates team (Planning, Technical, and Land). The role focuses on managing land assets through the planning process, ensuring sites are maintained, compliant, and ready for disposal to housebuilders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the company’s land portfolio, liaising with landowners and agents
  • Coordinate maintenance of non-tenanted land (e.g. fencing, grass cutting, hedgerows) in line with regulations
  • Support management of leases, licences, and Farm Business Tenancies, including rent reviews
  • Undertake regular site inspections (typically within 1–1.5 hours), reporting and actioning issues
  • Obtain and review contractor quotes for land management works
  • Handle public enquiries relating to land, boundaries, and maintenance
  • Coordinate site access for consultants (e.g. ecologists, surveyors)
  • Provide updates and support to the Land Manager on ongoing matters

Package

  • Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE)
  • Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours, Monday–Friday)
  • Holiday: 27 days + bank holidays
  • Location: nr Cheltenham (with some flexibility for home working)
  • Benefits: Company car, mobile, pension, and healthcare (post-probation)
