The Senior Software Tester will support the Software Test Manager to test the WCS software against the business and technical requirement specifications. The Senior Software Tester will analyse and review requirement documentation and write detailed test specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING
- Test case and specification design from product backlog items and requirement documentation
- Manual testing of the WCS software
- Analyse defects and log them in Team Foundation Server (TFS) with as much information as possible to support developers
- Become an expert on the requirement specification and the processes in the WCS
- Contribute to the development of the standard automation pack using Coded UI in Visual Studio with Specflow
- Run and create queries in SQL over an Oracle database to support testing, troubleshooting and software installation
- Work closely with the development team to see defects through to closure
- Participate in all scrum meetings (stand up / reviews / retrospectives etc)
- Support senior tester in providing and gathering data to report on and control test progress
- Update and install WCS and supporting software on virtual test environments and update configuration as required
- Assist with documentation of processes and best practices for testing
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Familiarity with industry testing tools such as Visual Studio, Test Manager, Selenium, QTP etc
- Experience in software testing or related area
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- SQL or Oracle experience
- Understanding of software development lifecycle across agile development
- ISEB/ISTQB Certified to at least foundation level in Software Testing
- Experience of SpecFlow / Cucumber or related BDD automated test framework
