Lead critical infrastructure operations in an enterprise Data Centre. TGS is looking for a Data Centre Manager to take ownership of day-to-day telecoms cabling infrastructure support services within a live, enterprise-scale Data Centre environment supporting a highly regulated banking client. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will run BAU operations, Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC), and project delivery across one or more Data Centre and campus locations. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will combine deep technical knowledge of structured cabling and IT hardware with the operational management skills to lead onsite teams, coordinate third-party suppliers, and keep service delivery consistently on target.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing daily Data Centre operations across BAU support and project activity, to agreed SLAs
  • Planning, coordinating and supervising MAC activities in live environments
  • Overseeing installation, relocation and decommissioning of servers, racks, cabinets and PDUs
  • Managing copper and fibre cabling installation, testing, fault diagnosis and network patching to industry standards
  • Maintaining accurate asset records via enterprise Asset Management Systems and managing ticket queues through ITSM platforms
  • Supporting Change Management, ensuring all work is authorised, documented and completed successfully
  • Conducting technology room inspections, monitoring infrastructure health, investigating alarms and driving continuous improvement
  • Building strong relationships with customer stakeholders; managing third-party engineers and site access within secure environments
  • Leading and mentoring onsite technical teams, reviewing competency and providing leadership from project planning through to handover
  • Supporting 24/7 operational requirements with flexible working where required

What you'll bring (Essential)

  • Proven experience in enterprise Data Centre environments, including Banking or other highly regulated IT settings
  • Extensive experience delivering Data Centre MAC activity and IT hardware deployment
  • Strong hands-on background installing, testing and fault-finding structured cabling (copper and fibre), with thorough knowledge of cabling standards and best practice
  • Experience with Asset Management and ITSM systems, plus a solid understanding of Incident, Change and Service Delivery processes
  • Experience supervising technical teams, coordinating shifts and managing third-party suppliers and contractors
  • Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Track record producing operational reports and maintaining accurate documentation
  • CompTIA Server+ / CompTIA Network+ / CCNA Data Centre / ITIL Foundation or higher
