Our client is a specialist contractor supporting the delivery of mission-critical and data centre infrastructure projects across UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of cooling and piping systems within hyperscale and mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to candidates with strong mechanical installation and pipefitting experience who are comfortable working across multiple project locations.
The Mechanical Engineer will support the installation and delivery of mechanical cooling infrastructure across live and new-build data centre environments. Responsibilities will include:
- Installing and assembling piping systems for cooling infrastructure projects.
- Fabricating and installing structural supports for mechanical pipework systems.
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of cooling equipment including CDUs and heat exchange systems.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, layouts, and installation specifications.
- Performing pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and system verification activities.
- Supporting commissioning and handover processes across mechanical systems.
- Coordinating with electrical, controls, and project delivery teams on-site.
- Ensuring compliance with project safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Documenting completed works, testing activities, and field modifications.
- Travelling across multiple project locations within Europe as required.
Experience required:
- Experience within mechanical installation, pipefitting, or cooling system construction.
- Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems and installation methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with testing, flushing, and commissioning support activities.
- Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects preferred.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent site certification.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe for project deployments.
- Fluent English required.
