We’re working with a specialist contractor operating within critical environments, delivering full-scope design, build and infrastructure solutions across complex projects. They’re now looking to bring in a Sales Engineering Manager to lead the front-end engineering function - someone who can take ownership of technical solutioning, pre-construction, and commercial input across bids and client engagements.

This role leans heavily toward electrical systems, so a strong background in power infrastructure and associated systems is key. You’ll need to be technically strong from both a design and academic standpoint, with the ability to challenge specifications, develop robust solutions, and confidently lead technical discussions with clients and consultants.

Data centre experience is a prerequisite for this role, and candidates must have a strong understanding of how electrical systems integrate across the wider MEP and critical infrastructure environment.

  • Leading the technical and engineering input across bids, tenders, and early-stage opportunities
  • Driving value engineering and alternative solutions to improve both cost and deliverability
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor engagement during tender stages
  • ELV/LV/MV power distribution systems
  • UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, and critical backup power infrastructure
  • Integration with mechanical systems including cooling, HVAC, and wider MEP services
  • Coordination with wider infrastructure including containment, structured cabling, and white space fit-out

Strong background in electrical engineering, ideally within critical or complex environments. Strong academic background with solid technical design capability and engineering fundamentals. Experience in a sales engineering, bid, or solutions role. Solid commercial awareness - understanding pricing, risk, and margins. Previous data centre project experience is essential. Electrical bias within M&E contracting or building services. Experience working on large-scale mission-critical or data centre projects.
