A specialist contractor delivering complex data centre projects is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage all commercial aspects across multiple ongoing schemes. Working closely with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and the Commercial team, this role is key to delivering financially sound outcomes while mitigating risk and identifying value opportunities.
Role Overview: Responsible for commercial oversight from pre-contract to final account, including budgeting, cost control, procurement, contract management, and stakeholder liaison.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and financial reports
- Lead full contract surveying duties including variations, valuations, and final accounts
- Administer change/variation procedures throughout project lifecycle
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Provide strategic commercial insights to enhance project profitability
- Support procurement activities including subcontract orders and material purchasing
- Liaise with clients and attend progress meetings as needed
- Maintain detailed project and financial documentation, including weekly cost reviews
- Ensure adherence to ERP systems and internal commercial processes
- Mentor junior commercial team members and promote best practice
- Uphold data protection and confidentiality standards
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying or similar role
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of commercial, contractual, and construction processes
- Proficient in cost management software and ERP tools
- Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Project
- Driving licence preferred and willingness to travel across Europe
