Our client, a consulting firm specializing in high-end Physical Security solutions, seeks a skilled Security Consultant to provide expert advisory services, technical designs, cost estimates, and construction administration for Electronic Security systems. This role will focus on Video Surveillance Systems (VSS/CCTV), Access Control, Intruder Detection, IP Audio & Video Intercoms, Security Control Room configurations, and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems. Candidates must have a strong understanding of IP technology and network infrastructure to support these systems.
The ideal candidate will confidently engage stakeholders and coordinate across multiple projects and disciplines, with an in-depth understanding of the RIBA project framework.
Responsibilities:- Develop detailed designs, specifications, budgets, and equipment schedules aligned with RIBA stages.
- Define and document security technology requirements, ensuring optimal system configuration for end users.
- Establish surveillance camera coverage needs, identifying camera locations and field of view.
- Manage security technology spatial requirements, power needs, and cable routing for each system.
- Provide guidance on operational, support, and maintenance practices, and recommend design improvements.
- Prepare layout drawings, including cable routing and equipment positioning.
- Attend project and client meetings, delivering presentations and addressing project specifics.
- Produce budgets and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for hardware, system implementation, and maintenance.
- Draft and review technical specifications, ensuring adherence to project Scope of Works.
- Lead commissioning management, witness testing, snagging, and project reporting.
- Conduct design documentation preparation, including schematics and technical drawings.
- Oversee design integrity throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct site visits and inspections within the UK and EMEA region, collaborating with client and partner teams.

- Proficiency in security design tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Visio) and familiarity with CCTV bandwidth/storage calculators.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IT and networking as they relate to Physical Security Systems.
- Familiarity with architectural plans and schematics, including power, cooling, and containment systems.
- ASIS PSP/CPP or CSMP certification (preferred); degree-level qualification in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Experience in AutoCAD and CCTV JVSG software is beneficial but not essential.
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
- Experienced in site surveys, inspections, and preparing design and technical specifications.
