About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical project manager to oversee the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. Based in Chichester, you'll play a key role in managing budgets, coordinating teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all mechanical aspects of projects from inception to handover
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and delivery
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource planning
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor project progress and produce regular status reports for stakeholders
  • Ensure quality assurance and adherence to industry standards and client requirements
  • Manage procurement of mechanical materials and services
  • Support the tendering process, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project management within a mechanical engineering or building services environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plant equipment
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualifications
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE)
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects
