About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical project manager to oversee the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. Based in Chichester, you'll play a key role in managing budgets, coordinating teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all mechanical aspects of projects from inception to handover
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and delivery
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource planning
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor project progress and produce regular status reports for stakeholders
- Ensure quality assurance and adherence to industry standards and client requirements
- Manage procurement of mechanical materials and services
- Support the tendering process, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management within a mechanical engineering or building services environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plant equipment
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE)
- Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects
