We are working with a leading Smart Buildings and building technology specialist looking to appoint a Technical Services Manager to provide technical leadership across complex, integrated building technology projects. This is a senior technical role covering the full project lifecycle, from pre-sales solution design and technical development through installation, systems integration, digital commissioning, handover and ongoing operational support.
You will act as a technical authority within the Smart Buildings team, working closely with engineering, commercial, project and operational teams, as well as clients, technology partners and specialist contractors. Projects will incorporate technologies including BMS, EMS, IoT, lighting controls, ELV systems, cloud platforms and wider smart building integrations, with responsibility for ensuring solutions are technically robust, commercially viable and delivered to the required standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership across Smart Building projects and services
- Supporting pre-sales, solution design and technical development
- Overseeing design, installation, commissioning, systems integration and handover
- Managing technical risk, quality, governance and project performance
- Working with clients, technology partners and specialist contractors to resolve technical challenges and improve delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, operational performance, sustainability and data-driven building management
Experience Required
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in Smart Buildings, BMS and systems integration, with previous experience working for or alongside a Master Systems Integrator (MSI).
You should have:
- Strong practical experience with BMS and EMS systems
- Experience across design, installation, commissioning and fault diagnosis
- Hands-on experience working across multiple BMS platforms
- Practical knowledge of MQTT protocols, IoT and connected building technologies
- Experience working with AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of building data, cloud integration and data lakes
- Strong knowledge of the project lifecycle from design and cost planning through procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover
