The role combines hands-on modelling with genuine BIM coordination responsibility: clash detection, design reviews, coordination meetings and clash close-out, all delivered in line with BIM Execution Plan requirements.

  • Maintain model quality, accuracy and consistency and apply project-specific BIM standards
  • Carry out clash detection in Navisworks, investigate conflicts and track clashes through to close-out
  • Attend BIM coordination and design review meetings and provide technical BIM input
  • Work with project and design teams to resolve coordination issues and flag design conflicts early
  • Ensure coordinated models comply with BIM Execution Plan requirements
  • Produce and update 2D drawings and layouts in Auto CAD, generated from BIM information
  • Provide technical BIM support to the wider CAD function and develop model outputs from existing 2D design information
  • Liaise with stakeholders, engineers, designers and construction trades to resolve design matters
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver BIM information to agreed programme dates

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience as a BIM Technician or Senior BIM Technician within an MEP project environment
  • Strong practical knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and Auto CAD
  • Experience developing 3D BIM models from 2D drawings and technical documentation
  • Proven ability to coordinate models across multiple trades and disciplines
  • Clash detection and coordination experience using Navisworks
  • Understanding of BIM Execution Plans and project BIM standards
  • Previous construction industry experience and experience working with multiple professional trades
  • Experience producing 2D technical drawings
  • Good understanding of technical design principles and industry standards
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio and Power Point
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Able to manage demanding workloads, work independently and contribute to a wider project team

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience on data centre or enterprise infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure within data centre and enterprise environments
  • Producing drawings for structured cabling installations, including floor plans and building schematics
  • Developing cabinet and frame layouts and cable density drawings
  • Creating detailed installation drawings, pre-termination schedules and isometric diagrams
  • Coordinating structured cabling requirements within BIM models
  • Understanding of how IT infrastructure interfaces with MEP and wider building services
  • WHAT IS ON OFFER
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Structured career development and progression
  • Exposure to major data centre and enterprise infrastructure projects
