A leading engineering and infrastructure delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex mechanical packages within large-scale data centre projects.
This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring mechanical systems are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of mechanical systems across data centre construction projects, including HVAC, cooling systems, pipework, and associated infrastructure.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery against programme milestones.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with expectations.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project and industry standards.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with relevant regulations, codes, and health & safety requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise impact on delivery.
- Act as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding mechanical scope, providing regular updates and reporting.
- Support commissioning activities and ensure systems are fully tested and operational prior to handover.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within construction or engineering environments.
Strong experience delivering mechanical packages on data centre or other mission-critical projects.
Solid technical knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC and cooling systems.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial awareness, including budget and cost control.
Familiarity with European standards and regulations (German market experience advantageous).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Fluent English required; German language skills are advantageous.
