Our client is a specialist contractor supporting the delivery of mission-critical and data centre infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of cooling and piping systems within hyperscale and mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to candidates with strong mechanical installation and pipefitting experience who are comfortable working across multiple project locations.
The Mechanical Engineer will support the installation and delivery of mechanical cooling infrastructure across live and new-build data centre environments. Responsibilities will include:
- Install and assemble piping systems for cooling infrastructure projects.
- Fabricate and install structural supports for mechanical pipework systems.
- Support the installation and commissioning of cooling equipment including CDUs and heat exchange systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and installation specifications.
- Perform pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and system verification activities.
- Support commissioning and handover processes across mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with electrical, controls, and project delivery teams on-site.
- Ensure compliance with project safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Document completed works, testing activities, and field modifications.
- Work within live mission-critical and fast-paced construction environments.
- Travel across multiple project locations within Europe as required.
Requirements:
- Experience within mechanical installation, pipefitting, or cooling system construction.
- Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems and installation methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with testing, flushing, and commissioning support activities.
- Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects preferred.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent site certification.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe for project deployments.
- Fluent English required.
