An opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the installation and delivery of cooling and piping infrastructure within Data centres and Mission critical environments. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone confident working with mechanical systems, interpreting technical drawings, and supporting projects across multiple locations around England.

The role involves the installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning of cooling systems, pipework, and associated infrastructure while working alongside project, electrical, and controls teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and assemble pipework systems for cooling infrastructure in line with project drawings and specifications
  • Fabricate and install structural supports for piping systems, adapting to on-site conditions where required
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of cooling equipment such as CDUs and rear-door cooling units
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts
  • Carry out pressure testing and inspections to identify leaks or defects
  • Support flushing, cleaning, and dosing of cooling systems in line with project requirements
  • Complete repairs and adjustments where necessary
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, and project teams to deliver projects on schedule
  • Follow all site safety, PPE, and quality procedures, including within live critical environments
  • Record completed works, testing results, and site changes for project handover documentation
  • Support installations across various project locations, including travel where required
Candidate Requirements:
  • Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Previous mechanical experience within cooling systems or pipework installations
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, structural supports, and mechanical assemblies
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience carrying out system testing, inspections, and repairs
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple trades and site teams
  • Physically capable of working at heights and in confined spaces where required
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Flexible to travel for project work across England
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Previous experience working in data centre or critical environment projects
  • Experience with rear-door cooling systems and Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
  • Knowledge of flushing and chemical dosing processes for cooling loops
  • Pipefitting experience and familiarity with mechanical installation techniques
  • SSSTS or similar site safety qualification
  • Basic understanding of electrical and controls systems related to cooling infrastructure
  • Eligibility to work across England
