Working onsite within a prestigious client data centre, this role is highly customer-focused and requires excellent attention to detail. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will deliver IMACD services ranging from small tasks such as patching and fault finding to larger activities including server installations, migrations, and full decommission/recommission work.
You will ensure all work is completed to the required standards, documented accurately, and delivered with exceptional customer service. Data Centre Engineers work on shifts that contribute towards providing support services 24x7x365 and report to the local Service Delivery Manager.
What You’ll Do- Rack, install, patch, and test hardware
- Support decommissions and secure media handling
- Update DCIM (Nlyte) and carry out audits
- Perform daily floor walks, health checks, and incident response
- Manage change requests and document work accurately
- Handle visitor access, stock checks, deliveries, and shift handovers
- Data centre or high-risk environment experience
- Solid understanding of infrastructure & networking basics
- Strong organisation, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and on rotating shifts
