They are currently seeking a multi-skilled Data Centre Engineer to join their team in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team delivering Data Centre services in a dynamic, high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work a 24x7x365 shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off
- Perform change control management and incident resolution
- Track and manage data centre assets
- Supervise and escort third-party vendors
- Install IT hardware according to strict data centre standards
- Plan and decommission network hardware and structured cabling
- Maintain and update documentation and inventories
- Complete service requests within agreed SLAs
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and internal quality standards
- Follow approved processes and procedures
- Uphold data centre security protocols
Task-Specific Duties:
- Maintain data centre toolsets used for support and management
- Oversee governance and daily operations of the data centre
- Collaborate with facilities providers to improve energy efficiency
- Support installations, decommissions, maintenance, and other operational tasks
- Contribute to service improvement and infrastructure projects
- Perform basic server configuration (IDRAC, ILO)
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed
- Carry out racking, stacking, patching, and decommissioning
- Assist with major infrastructure work, including power-related projects
- Manage structured cabling for stable IT and desktop connectivity
What Weβre Looking For:
- Experience in high-risk environments and data centres
- Familiarity with DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
- Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ticketing systems (desirable)
