We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cable Technician to join our team for a high-profile Data Centre project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and maintenance of structured cabling systems to support the critical infrastructure of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct cable pulling, routing, and dressing in compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cabling infrastructure.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other team members.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cable Technician in data centre or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, ANSI).
  • Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and high-security environments.
  • Certifications such as BICSI, CCNA, FOA, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Must be physically fit to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
