Data Centre project
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and maintenance of structured cabling systems to support the critical infrastructure of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Conduct cable pulling, routing, and dressing in compliance with industry standards.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cabling infrastructure.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other team members.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cable Technician in data centre or large-scale commercial projects.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, ANSI).
- Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
- Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and high-security environments.
- Must be physically fit to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.
