Our client is a leading engineering and construction contractor delivering complex building services projects across sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities, commercial developments, and critical infrastructure. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale electrical and MEP packages from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
The Senior Electrical Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the safe, commercial, and successful delivery of electrical works on major construction projects. This includes:
- Programme management
- Stakeholder engagement
- Subcontractor management
- Commercial oversight
- Commissioning coordination
- Project closeout
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project mobilisation, planning, and execution of electrical packages.
- Manage project scope, programme, budget, and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and implement mitigation measures where required.
- Manage technical queries, RFIs, design coordination, and approvals.
- Oversee variations, change management, and commercial controls.
- Drive programme performance and ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Support procurement activities for electrical equipment and materials.
- Manage project risks and develop recovery plans when necessary.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and support successful system turnover.
- Oversee quality assurance, snagging, and project closeout processes.
- Lead client meetings and provide regular project performance reporting.
- Ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Electrical trade qualification, HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Significant experience delivering large-scale electrical or MEP construction projects.
- Strong project delivery background within building services construction.
- Experience managing project budgets, costs, variations, and commercial performance.
- Proven leadership experience managing project teams and subcontractors.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
- Experience within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects preferred.
- Understanding of commissioning, testing, handover, and project closeout processes.
