A leading technology infrastructure and managed services provider is seeking a Data Centre Team Leader to support operations within a large-scale, mission-critical environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating day-to-day data centre operations, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure deployments, operational support, and change activities across one or more critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of Data Centre Operations Engineers within a shift-based environment.
- Oversee hardware installations, rack and stack activities, structured cabling, and infrastructure changes.
- Ensure all operational activities are delivered in line with customer processes and change procedures.
- Manage incidents, break-fix activities, and escalation processes.
- Conduct routine facility inspections, health checks, and environmental monitoring.
- Maintain accurate asset, inventory, and configuration records.
- Coordinate third-party vendors, contractors, and site access activities.
- Produce operational reports, documentation, and handovers.
- Mentor, train, and support team members to ensure high service standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and service delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience within data centre operations, critical environments, or enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Experience leading or supervising technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, hardware deployments, and physical infrastructure.
- Experience with change management, incident management, and service delivery processes.
- Familiarity with asset management and IT service management systems.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, 24/7 operational environments.
