We are looking to further strengthen our Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of an Assistant Principal responsible for SEND. Whether you are a talented and proven leader or looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.

  • Have a genuine desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life chances of our children.
  • Be hardworking, dedicated and willing to embrace new challenges.
  • Be an inspirational teacher with a proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Be a qualified SENDCo, or be undertaking a recognised SEND qualification such as the NPQ for SEND.

  • Have a proven track record of leading a core subject and driving improvements in outcomes.
  • Possess a clear vision, energy and commitment to all aspects of school life.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.

We can offer you:

  • Enthusiastic, friendly and well-mannered children who are eager to learn.
  • The opportunity to develop your leadership voice and shape the strategic direction of the academy.
  • The chance to work in strategic partnership with an outstanding Senior Leadership Team and colleagues from across The GORSE Academies Trust.
  • Exceptional professional development opportunities delivered by colleagues from across the trust, including Executive Principal-level leadership.
  • Access to our leadership development programme, designed to nurture and support leadership aspirations.
  • The opportunity to work in one of only 20 accredited World Class Primary Schools in England.
  • A fun, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • A culture that values innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Access to a wide range of employee benefits and wellbeing support as part of The GORSE Academies Trust.

Little London Academy is part of The Gorse Academies Trust, having joined in February 2024. The Gorse Academies Trust has an increasingly well-known reputation for changing the life chances for children and young adults who come from some of the most impoverished parts of the country. The trust’s mission is to ensure that they play a significant role in removing the stubborn link between poverty and academic underperformance.

Consequently, pupils and professionals are in the vanguard of a national drive which seeks to prove that where teaching is excellent, leadership inspiring and behaviour standards are exemplary, all children excel regardless of background.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible recruitment process, and we welcome applications from people with disabilities as defined by the Equality Act. If you would benefit from any adjustments during the application or interview process, please inform us so we can support you appropriately.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to full employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and barring service check. We promote diversity and aim to establish a workforce that reflects the population of Leeds.

Employment is conditional on confirmation of the right to work in the UK – either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa. Please note that, as a sponsor licence holder, we only provide sponsorship for teacher vacancies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
