An excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Building Regulations professional to assist in growing Building Advisory services (including team management) across TFT. Working on a wide commercial client portfolio, our clients include global real estate investors and other enviable corporates. This will be a leading role in growing the existing service line and establishing a dedicated team alongside wider support across the business in our other UK offices. You will have a high level of autonomy, where you will be expected to build client relationships and be part of the senior management team.

You will manage and be accountable for service delivery on a wide range of projects leading the communication between the client, designers, and contractors. You will be responsible for the delivery of Building Regulations services, including Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD), BRPD Advisor and Client Advisor, handling multiple projects, to complement the range of project and building consultancy professionals across the UK, and in conjunction with regional teams. Key accountabilities

  • Be actively involved in the development of services, business development and leading growth – this is an essential part of the role
  • Assist in leading the Building Regulations Advisory team including work and resource allocation and oversight of financial performance
  • Liaise with designers and contractors on building regulations compliance.
  • Review building information and design information and identify how any gaps in information and compliance issues can be resolved
  • Carry out building regulations specific design reviews throughout the design and construction phases of a project
  • Support designers and project managers with specialist advice on building regulations
  • Liaise with other business units cross selling the services
  • Other relevant building consultancy work

Performance criteria

  • Class 3H Registered Building Inspector
  • Level 6 Qualification or Degree
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Regulations, the Higher Risk Building Procedures Regulations and Building Safety Act
  • Proven team leadership
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment, including demonstrable experience in business development
  • Strong client communication skills
  • Able to meet fee targets and engage with the team to achieve the overall target
  • Commercially astute
