Are you passionate about scientific communication and skilled at building strong client relationships? TFS HealthScience is looking for a Director Business Development – Medical Writing Services to drive commercial growth for our single-service Medical Writing offering. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, selling individual Medical Writing services, and expanding our client portfolio globally. You will collaborate closely with our Medical Writing team to ensure clients receive high-quality, timely support that meets their documentation and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global business development efforts focused on single-service Medical Writing projects.
  • Identify and pursue new clients within pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.
  • Build long-term client relationships based on trust, understanding of scientific needs, and proactive communication.
  • Promote and position TFS Medical Writing services based on client requirements.
  • Work closely with the Medical Writing leadership team to scope, price, and prepare proposals.
  • Manage client meetings, presentations, and responses to RFIs/RFPs.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development or sales within Medical Writing, Medical Communications, Regulatory Writing, or other scientific services.
  • Academic background in life sciences or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of scientific documentation processes.
  • Proven ability to sell specialized scientific or technical services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, self-driven, and comfortable working remotely.
  • Fluency in English; other languages are an advantage.
