A permanent job opportunity is currently available for a Senior Information Officer (Resources) OR Information Officer looking for career progression to join an existing central Library and Information service team, based within a leading law firm. This role can be based at the firm’s UK wide offices with a choice of locations, with a remote working pattern in place.

The main focus of the role is procurement: acquisition, delivery, renewal, and promotion of information resources. Liaising with vendors and curating the annual information budget, tracking and reporting on spending throughout the financial year. You will be confident in proactively recommending purchasing decisions in line with the procurement strategy and firm development. This is a varied information role, with a range of job responsibilities, including legal research, resource enquiries, delivering training and inductions for lawyers, trainees, and other new joiners.

The job requirements ideally include a Library and Information qualification and a passion for procurement, information and research. You will be experienced in supporting procurement or renewal activities relating to information and database subscriptions. You will lead on daily resource management activities, supervising tasks of the Information Officer. It is highly desirable that you have relevant experience in a similar research or information service. Ideally this will have been gained from another law firm or another professional services firm. Culture fit and the right personality is equally important as research, knowledge, and information experience. You should have a customer service focus, be a strong communicator with a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for information services.
