What you’ll do:
- Working closely with the design team to develop new product ranges seasonally, ensuring our ranges are delivered on time achieving company KPI's (in-take, margin and markdown).
- Partnering closely with the merchandising team to drive profits.
- Anticipating and meeting the needs of our global customer on the department, delivering a well-balanced range in line with our product and overall brand strategy.
Who you’ll be:
Reporting into the Buying Manager, you will aim to maximise profit and deliver the premium handwriting and high-quality standards we are renowned for at Whistles. Key accountabilities for the role include:
- Product Planning: Working with the Merchandiser to create new seasonal product plans based on past performance and future strategies.
- Technical Knowledge: Ensuring that our product meets our high-quality standards by working closely with the Design team and attending fit sessions.
- Range Planning: Formulating phasing, storytelling, and delivering to category targets. Effectively communicating the vision for the product ranges to other departments, such as e-commerce. Managing the product lifecycle from development to delivery.
- Supply Chain Strategy: Collaborating with the Buying Manager to develop a supply base strategy that meets product requirements, margin targets, quality standards, and compliance regulations.
The Buyer will demonstrate high integrity, motivation, and a solution-focused approach with a proven track record of commercial success. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to effortlessly switch between planning and execution, along with a collaborative and positive mindset. Strong commercial acumen, numeracy, and analytical skills are essential for identifying and pursuing opportunities within the department.
