Driver Hire Leeds West is currently working alongside our client in the insulation and drylining sector to recruit for a Class 2 Driver with Moffett to join their team in Leeds, LS27. You will start as a valued member of the Driver Hire Leeds West team for your first 13 weeks, before transitioning into a permanent role with our client. Pay & Benefits
- £17.69 per hour (standard rate)
- £20.94 per hour (overtime rate)
- PAYE Advanced Rate including Holiday Pay whilst working for Driver Hire Leeds West
- Permanent salary of between £30,000 and £31,000 including overtime

Job Duties
As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of insulation and drylining materials to construction sites and residential locations. You will play a key role in ensuring materials arrive in excellent condition and on schedule, supporting the smooth running of building projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle and Moffett forklift safely and efficiently
- Load and unload insulation and drylining products with care
- Liaise with dispatch, sales teams, and site managers to coordinate deliveries
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and paperwork
- Navigate routes effectively, adapting to traffic and road conditions
- Deliver excellent customer service on-site and during drop-offs
- Comply with all health & safety regulations and company policies
- Attend mandatory training sessions as required
Requirements
- Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Moffett licence (essential)
- Previous experience in construction materials or insulation delivery (preferred)
- Strong understanding of road safety and transport regulations
- Physically fit and able to handle manual loading/unloading
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Good communication and organisational skills
