Overview
Hello! We’re Teya. Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance. At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street. We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters. We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us. Become a part of our story. We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
As a Principal Product Designer on our Payments team, you’ll have both autonomy and real impact. You’ll work with a focused, experienced group to define how payments flow across our ecosystem—how merchants across Europe accept payments, reconcile transactions, manage payouts, and ensure security and compliance. This is one of the most strategic product areas at Teya, and you’ll be one of the leading voices shaping its vision, design language, and customer experience—while helping grow a small, ambitious design team and the culture around it.
What You Will Do
- Define and drive the vision for Teya’s payment products, creating seamless ways for small businesses to accept and manage payments.
- Own end-to-end product experiences, working with product, engineering, and research to shape ideas from early concept to launch.
- Design intuitive, secure, and compliant payment flows that build trust and reduce friction for merchants and their customers.
- Leverage AI to create smarter, adaptive experiences that help merchants optimize payment acceptance and reduce operational complexity.
- Get to understand Teya’s customers across Europe and design solutions that make a genuine difference in how they run their businesses.
- Bring clarity to complex systems through strong structure, thoughtful design, and exceptional craft.
- Use research, data, and rapid prototyping to test, learn, and iterate with purpose.
- Help grow the design culture at Teya by raising the quality bar and mentoring others to do their best work.
Your Story
- You have 8+ years of experience in Product Design, with at least 3 years leading work in complex or regulated environments such as fintech or payments.
- You’re confident at designing for payment systems—from acceptance to settlement and reconciliation—bringing clarity to complexity.
- Your portfolio shows depth of thinking, refined UX and UI craft, and a strong sense of quality and detail.
- You move comfortably between strategy and execution, guiding vision while staying close to the craft.
- You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, working closely with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders at all levels to ship great work.
- You’re curious about how emerging technologies, including AI, can make design more adaptive, predictive, and personal.
- You’re driven by real-world impact, care deeply about the people who use your products, and thrive in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
