Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance. At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street. We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters. We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us. Become a part of our story. We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join Teya’s rapidly growing field-based operations. This is a role for someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys building long-term customer relationships, and wants to play a visible role in how a high-growth business succeeds on the ground, while also contributing to the growth and development of the local team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own customer acquisition within your defined territory by proactively identifying and engaging prospective customers through outbound outreach, networking and referrals.
- Meet customers face-to-face to understand their needs, challenges and goals, building trust through consultative, insight-led conversations.
- Use structured, value-led sales approaches to win new business and consistently exceed revenue targets.
- Develop deep expertise across Teya’s full product portfolio, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to your customers.
- Act as the voice of the customer by sharing insights from the field to inform product development, sales strategy and process improvements.
- Represent Teya across your territory as a credible, professional and values-led ambassador of the brand.
- Build and nurture long‑term customer relationships by identifying relevant upsell and cross‑sell opportunities as customers’ businesses grow.
- Support the onboarding and development of new team members by sharing best practices and coaching in the field.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales culture that values learning and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with the Sales Manager and step in to support day-to-day leadership activities when required, helping ensure team alignment and momentum.
Your Story
This role goes beyond individual performance. It’s an opportunity to contribute to a strong, collaborative sales team and help raise standards across the wider organisation. To do that, we’re looking for individuals who bring the following experience and qualities:
- Strong experience in a sales role, ideally within field-based sales in payments, fintech, SaaS or similar industries, with a level of seniority that demonstrates consistent performance and impact.
- A proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and driving sustainable revenue growth.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting colleagues, with the ability to positively influence and develop others.
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills, particularly in a field-based environment.
- Confident negotiation and objection‑handling capabilities.
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast‑paced, evolving business.
- A proactive, self‑driven mindset, with an interest in developing towards leadership as the local team continues to grow.
- Fluency in English.
- A full UK driving licence.
This is a fully field-based sales role.
The Perks
We believe high performance should be matched with meaningful reward, support and flexibility. In return for your contribution, you can expect:
- Competitive basic salary plus commission, with typical on‑target earnings of £90,000 in your first year.
- Company car.
- Physical and mental wellbeing support through GymPass, including free access to 1,500+ gyms across the UK, 1-to-1 therapy, meditation sessions, and digital fitness and nutrition apps.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave, offering greater flexibility and support for different family needs.
- Cycle‑to‑Work Scheme.
- Health and Life Insurance.
- Pension Scheme.
- 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays.
