Hello. We’re Teya. Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better. They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business. Teya exists to change that. We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work. We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.
If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you.
As a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Operations Analyst you will be responsible for reviewing and managing customer due diligence cases across onboarding, event-driven triggers, and periodic reviews. Working as part of Teya's Financial Crime team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that customer information is captured accurately, decisions are well-documented, and regulatory requirements are met - all while maintaining a high-quality customer experience. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, exercise sound judgement in ambiguous situations, and adapt readily to new tools and ways of working, including AI-augmented workflows.
Key Objectives
- Review onboarding, event-driven, and periodic review CDD cases in a timely manner, ensuring all cases are completed within agreed SLAs and to a consistently high standard of quality.
- Collect and assess customer information in line with Teya's risk appetite and regulatory requirements, making risk-based decisions that are proportionate, documented, and defensible.
- Produce clear, complete case documentation that tells the story of a decision, including the rationale for edge cases, without gaps that require follow-up to interpret.
- Exercise sound judgement on ambiguous cases, escalating where genuinely needed rather than routinely, and articulating reasoning clearly when doing so.
- Identify patterns or anomalies across casework and raise issues proactively with a proposed solution, contributing to the continuous improvement of CDD processes.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across Compliance, Sales and Customer Support, to gather information and resolve queries efficiently.
- Engage constructively with new tooling and AI-augmented workflows, looking for smarter ways to work rather than defaulting to legacy manual approaches.
- Keep up to date with AML/KYC regulations, financial crime typologies, and internal policy changes to ensure casework reflects current standards and best practice.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a CDD, KYC, or financial crime operations role, ideally within payments, card acquiring, or e-money.
- Working knowledge of UK and EU AML/KYC regulations and an understanding of how they apply to customer due diligence activity.
- Familiarity with card acquiring and/or e-money or banking products and the financial crime risks associated with them.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret customer information and risk indicators and draw well-reasoned, documented conclusions.
- Sound judgement in ambiguous situations - able to make risk-based decisions without excessive escalation, and to clearly articulate the rationale behind them.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce structured, complete, and reviewer-ready case notes and decisions.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied caseload consistently against volume targets and SLAs.
- A strong sense of ownership - follows through end-to-end, flags blockers early, and does not need to be chased to complete work.
- A collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills and a professional approach to cross-team engagement.
Desirable
- AML or KYC qualifications (e.g. ICA or ACAMS), or working towards certification.
- Experience using case management systems or CDD/KYC tooling.
