TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for an
External Site Manager to lead the delivery of a Multi Rise Demolition and Remediation project in Southampton.
The manager will oversee day to day site activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and in accordance with all statutory requirements, client expectations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management
- Manage all daily external site operations.
- Coordinate demolition, remediation, enabling and associated subcontractors.
- Plan and sequence works to achieve programme milestones.
- Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Ensure site logistics are effectively managed, including deliveries, traffic management and waste removal.
- Health, Safety & Environmental
- Lead by example in promoting a positive safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all relevant HSE legislation.
- Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks.
- Review and implement RAMS.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Manage temporary works, exclusion zones and public protection measures.
- Ensure environmental controls including dust, noise, vibration and pollution prevention are maintained.
- Demolition & Remediation
- Supervise demolition activities in accordance with approved methodologies.
- Monitor structural sequencing and temporary stability requirements.
- Coordinate asbestos removal (where applicable) through licensed contractors.
- Manage contaminated land remediation and validation activities.
- Ensure all waste is correctly segregated, documented and disposed of in accordance with legislation.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure works are completed to specification.
- Complete quality inspections and maintain site records.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants and statutory authorities.
- Resolve defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants and local authorities.
- Coordinate with utilities providers and neighbouring stakeholders.
- Attend site progress meetings.
- Maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate site diaries.
- Complete daily and weekly progress reports.
- Record plant, labour and material usage.
- Ensure all permits and statutory documentation are maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large demolition projects.
- Experience delivering remediation and enabling works.
- Strong understanding of demolition sequencing and temporary works.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors.
- Excellent knowledge of UK health & safety legislation.
- Experience working on projects in occupied or constrained urban environments.
