TEXO Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Manager to join a growing business in West Ham, London.
This is a key opportunity for an experienced environmental professional who can take ownership of the company's environmental compliance and implement a robust ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
The successful candidate will have significant experience within environmental compliance and management, with a strong understanding of ISO 14001 and the ability to come into the business, assess the current processes and lead the implementation of the required systems, procedures and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the company's environmental compliance and management systems.
- Lead the implementation of an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Review existing environmental processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures and documentation.
- Ensure the business remains compliant with relevant UK environmental legislation and regulations.
- Establish appropriate environmental objectives, targets and monitoring processes.
- Prepare the business for ISO 14001 certification and external audits.
- Manage environmental audits, inspections and corrective actions.
- Identify environmental risks and implement effective control measures.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on environmental compliance.
- Monitor environmental performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate environmental records and compliance documentation.
About You
We are looking for someone with substantial environmental experience, ideally gained within an engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, industrial or similar environment.
You will need
- Extensive experience in environmental compliance and management.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001.
- Proven experience implementing or developing an Environmental Management System.
- Experience preparing businesses for ISO 14001 certification/audits.
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting environmental audits and identifying areas for improvement.
- The ability to develop practical systems, procedures and processes from the ground up.
- A hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership and drive change across the business.
Health & Safety and Quality experience would be beneficial, but the primary focus of this position will be on environmental compliance and ISO 14001 implementation.
